  How do you say good-bye?

  my doctor called me today and told me i have a very aggressive case of colon cancer.

  i go back on monday for more tests and maybe surgery and chemo i don't know.

  my partner is a total mess over this and he is all i have.

  I don't get it

  i need some help in understanding something that's been bothering me for a while, please give me some insight on this.

  i often see posts here where some take shots at elders and witnesses for working as janitors and window washers, and it's always bothered me.

  i mean does it really matter what they do for a living as long as they are making a living honestly?

  It is very difficult to run a small business and make an honest living. Most janitor and gardener elders and MS that I know have huge businesses because that is the only way to afford one and stay legal. I tried the janitor thing for a short time but the late hours and chemicals wiped me out.

  I agree, I'd want a counselor who had some real training and not a janitor who hasn't slept all week and smells like floor wax. Been there and dealt with that.

  The job doesn't bother me, its the incongruity of the apointment of these ingnorant, (not educated in the task) individuals. On top of that, most have no social security to fall back on because they are practicing how to clean so they can clean up the earth after armagagum.

  Dumb de dumb dumb, choice.

  Elders son is GAY!!!

  ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

  just looked up my old high school in classmates.com, i saw this dude who was a couple years older than me, didn't really know him but i knew his brother (who left the org the same time i did), his dad kicked him out of the house and he lived in his car, they are sons of one of the elders (assholes) who df'd my dad.

  the good son was a good little jw that did everything a jw father (elder) would want his son to do, on his bio on classmates.com he says that he is gay, ha ha ha ha.

  I am of the impression that Wordly Andre was laughing at the fact that the elder's son was gay from the standpoint that it was a disgrace to the elder from the elder's standpoint. I took it as a very positive post by WA because he was showing the irony of this self righteous homophobe's own son becoming what he hates despite all his holier than thou bullship.

  So, honestly, a kneejerk reaction might cause one to think that WA was insensitive when a more measured evaluation proves him to be much more sympathetic than one would have considered.

  He likes the gays as you can see.

  Sometimes its amazing how the written word can spark such stark reactions.

  hello dear friends... well, many of you are aware of my on going daily saga.

  my husband and i left the organization about a year and a half ago.

  we have not been disfellowshipped, nor have we disassociated ourselves.

  If they are truly your friends and you want to spend time with them, go to dinner. If not, stay home. If they want to talk about religion and you don't, don't. Tell them its off the table. If you want to be DF'd, then go and spill your guts. If you want to help them more than you want to remain faded, spill your guts. If you want to hit your head against the wall, have a miserable dinner and get your ass DF'd, go to dinner. If you want to go have a farewell dinner and sincerely help these people hear what you've learned regardless of the consequences, go have dinner.

  Remember, it only takes two witnesses to an accuasation.... You're right, the big boys might be setting you up with the husband and wife as two witnesses to your new found faith.

  You know of course that its up to you. Choose wisely grasshopper.

  Question for Ex Elders... Field Service

  behind the scenes, how did the elder body view field service.

  were they enthusiastic about it, viewed it as necessary to maintain their position or just indifferent about it.

  in my 28 years inside i know of only one elder that had the pioneer spirit and actually pioneered when he retired.

  raised in the truth?

  i was just wondering what constitutes as being brought up in the truth.

  my mom was baptized when i was 7 and my dad got dunked when i was 11. right now i don't really consider myself as being fully raised in the truth because even though i've been going to meetings since i was 6 i just slept/doodled through them.

  my mom didn't study with us kids and my dad didn't start the family study until i was 12. i'm turning 20 in a few weeks... i've known life before the truth and it was much bettter, everyone was soo much happier.

  Go to school. Dont worry what label they put on you, "raised" or "Converted". Either way you are not a witnoid. Keep it that way. Tell them you believe what the "Live Forever" book said about baptism.

  Tell them that you view this as too private a matter to discuss with anyone but Jehovah at this time.

  I was 19 when an elder came on to me

  i was a nineteen year old kid when a jw elder in his late fifties came on to me.

  i was going through some awful stuff and dropped by his mobile home for spiritual counsel and a listening ear.

  he answered the door in skivvies and a t-shirt.

  At least the freak was looking for consent from you. You would have had to kill him if he touched you! Doubtless he was working up the courage to hurt someone if he later opportuned an underager. Never understood why people dont just scream it from the rooftops when a freak like that comes on to them.

  How to be well treated after leaving JWs

  my dad a lay preacher in the sda church is staying here in canberra and has some idears about how to be well treated by the elders of the jws.

  a member from the nowra church and the pastor came to my dads church for services and they went to my dads house for lunch.

  it turned out the member from nowra was a former jw member.

  I agree with Kid-a, this is probably a misunderstanding. It's possible he was disfellowshipped for some other matter than Apostacy. If the elders see that a person is no longer practicing the sin they were DF'd for, they will approached and encouraged to return. Of course only the elders could do that legally though others who observe the change, (if its obvious) might join in the campaign of their own volition. This most likely is the situation. The fact that he was joining the SDA's shows he was practicing a form of devotion to God and they must have asssumed he had repented of whatever he was ousted for.
